Crayola Colored Bubbles: Reputation Management for a 1-Star Disaster

One of my many brilliant Twitter followees pointed me this anniversary to a hilarious page of Amazon reviews for a artefact called Crayola Colored Bubbles Wand Set. This piqued my absorption because I remember reading an interview in The Believer a few years back with Tim Kehoe, a toy inventor who had been working for added than a decade to advance colored bubbles that wouldn't stain. (You can read an excerpt from the interview online, but the full text is only available in print. FWIW, I seem to remember the whole issue being fantastic. I believe it also included interviews with Will Sheff of Okkervil River and Rivka Galchen, columnist of Atmospheric Disturbances.)

Crayola Recycle Program

Looking for a fun way to get your children involved in Earth Day all year long? Gather your old plastic appearance and/or writing utensils and RECYCLE! The Crayola Recycle Program is free and easy to use. It was created in 2013 as part of the GoGreen Initiative as a result of their mass production. Each year Crayola produces over 500 actor plastic type products and in return they accept all brands of plastic markers, highlighters, and/or dry erase markers to be recycled! These recycled products are being turned into clean diesel fuel which is utilized by construction industries. This program is an important step saving the planet, so instead of casting those old dried up markers send them to school with your children. Only an estimated 8-9 % of plastic is recycled in the United States. Let us take a stance together and increase the rate of recycled plastic.

CAN WE TURN CHEAP CRAYOLA MARKERS INTO EXPENSIVE COPIC MARKERS?

My son (6) bought these bubbles with his allowance money and immediately ran to the backyard to play with them as soon as we got home. Unfortunately, 2 minutes later he came running back into the house sobbing and I panicked thinking he had hurt himself because his hands appeared to be covered in blood. I asked if he hurt himself and he said "No, it's the bubbles!" Sure enough, the actual bubble liquid in the orange container comes out a dark reddish color at aboriginal and very much so resembled blood so if you have squeamish kids like mine, don't even attempt the orange...

All 120 Crayon Names, Color Codes and Fun Facts

Kehoe's artefact was set to be called Zubbles and debut in 2008, but I never heard anything else about them, until now. At first I thought Kehoe sold the formula to Crayola, but it looks like Zubbles are a separate artefact (highly reviewed, if currently unavailable), and Crayola has developed a competing product. Unfortunately, it would appear from the reviews that Crayola's execution leaves article to be desired. Here are some excerpts:

I haven’t written much about decay reduction here. I’m constantly mentally drafting and abandoning blog posts on decay topics, and I never really feel like they fit in on the Decay Nothing blog, as that’s for news about the website … Continue reading →
